Registration Guidelines

 *Full strokes = front crawl, back crawl, breast stroke

Adult 1

If you are a complete beginner with zero swimming experience, this class is perfect for you! Our focus is on helping you feel comfortable and confident in the water while learning the essential building blocks of swimming. You’ll learn proper breathing techniques, front and back floats, smooth glides, and foundational assisted kicking and strokes—all at a relaxed pace designed for absolute beginners. With patient instruction and a supportive environment, you’ll gain the skills needed to safely enjoy the water and start your swimming journey.

Pre-Requisites: Zero!

 

What you’ll be learning

​

  1. Breathing basics 

  2. Floating

  3. Gliding

  4. Kicking w/ aid (10-15m; aka, unassisted swimming)

  5. Intro to breathing while swimming

  6. Short kick-only swims (5-10m) 

  7. Intro to *full strokes (5-10m)

  8. Intro to treading water (with aid)

  • Jumping in

  • Semi-deep water swimming

Adult 1.5

If you’ve completed Adult 1 and can already float and glide comfortably, this next beginner level is designed for you. Adult 1.5 continues to build your confidence while helping you transition from assisted skills to more independent swimming.

​

In this class, you’ll refine your breathing, improve body positioning, and begin connecting movements into continuous swims—all with the goal of achieving your first 25m swim. You’ll also become more comfortable in deeper water and build endurance with treading water.

​

This level is the perfect step for beginners ready to move beyond the basics and start swimming with greater control and independence.

​

Pre-Requisites: Able to float and glide for 5 seconds + 5m unassisted swimming, and/or have passed Adult 1.

​

  1. Refine breathing technique

  2. Weight transfer

  3. Gliding (5m)

  4. Kicking w/ aid (15-25m)

  5. Breathing while swimming (10-15m)

  6. Intro to full strokes* (15-25m)

  7. Jumping in

  8. Semi-deep to deep water swimming

  9. Treading water (eggbeater) (30sec+)

(Optional)

  • Kneeling dives

  • Jump into semi-deep water, tread for 20sec, swim 25m

Adult 2

Adult 2 is designed for swimmers who have some experience in the water but are still building confidence and technique. This class focuses on developing stronger foundational skills, improving body position, and refining breathing and timing. You’ll work on front and back glides, efficient kicking, coordinated arm movements, and introduction to full strokes such as freestyle and backstroke. With guided practice and clear instruction, you’ll increase your endurance, improve your technique, and feel more comfortable swimming independently.

 

Pre-Requisites: 25m unassisted swimming, and/or have passed Adult 1.5.

 

What you’ll be learning

 

  1. Refine kicking

  2. *Full stroke development (50-100m)

  3. Breath control

  4. Underwater swims

  5. Treading water (eggbeater) (1-2min)

  6. Jump into deep water, tread for 1 min, swim 50m

  7. Deep end swimming

 

(Optional

  • Standing dives

  • Interval training (4 x 25m)

Adult 3

Adult 3 is a fitness-focused class for swimmers who can comfortably swim over 75m at a time and are looking to build strength through structured drills that improve technique and endurance. Sessions are designed to keep your heart rate up with continuous sets, interval work, and purposeful rest, making it a great option for those who want swimming to double as a challenging workout. This class is also ideal for anyone training for or considering a triathlon and wanting to build confidence and efficiency in the water.

Pre-Requisites: 75m unassisted swimming, and/or have passed Adult 2.

​

What you’ll be learning

​

  1. *Full stroke refinement (100-150m+)

  2. Endurance (150-300m+)

  3. Interval training (4 x 50m)

  4. Breathing control & pacing

  5. Kick power & pull strength

  6. Speed with proper form

  7. Confidence for triathlon-style swimming
